Begin working on the creation of a Micro Social Networking Site

1) Use your theme as a basis for creating a shorter community name. *This can also be your iteration 2 logo design effort.
2) Make a tagline that will appear with the community name.
Taglines are probably the second most noticeable element of a business identity. With just a few words, a tagline must be understandable, summarize the product or service offering, build trust, or incite to buy.

3) Create a site using Ning.com to build a community interested in your theme and related subjects.
4) Create an aesthetically appropriate banner that includes your community name and a “tagline”. Dimensions for the banner: maximum width 925 pixels, height as appropriate, no bigger than 250K, 72dpi, png format
5) Choose your colors and layout from the provided templates and customize. Use one or
more color(s) from the color (palette/mood) project as a starting point..
6) Look at other Ning sites by picking from the various categories (Networking, Causes, etc.) at ning.com
**The goal for creating this community is to solicit ideas from its members as to
what product or service might result from the community’s theme. You will use
one or more of these ideas for future assignments.***
7) Weave questions about your theme into your community’s discussion, postings, etc.
8) Also include a poll using poll daddy (see below instructions) to add the poll,with options to choose various proposed products or services.
9) Under the “Notes” section, write an introductory statement. (Everyone should have this statement checked and edited by someone who speaks English as their first language.)
10) Also include these elements in your site (add others as appropriate):
*The completed sound assignment as a audio signature for the community

*Music, art, images, links related directly and indirectly to the theme, added by you and
the community

*10 or more relevant posts to articles, images or blog posts
*Three or more existing videos relating to your theme.
*A discussion in the forum
11) Solicit people to join your community. You will need a minimum of 15 members.
12) Manage and tend to the community many times a day in order for it to make it thrive (and to answer the question above).
Instructions for adding a poll:
It is fairly simple to add a poll to the Ning site. It just takes a few steps and to set up an account.
1) Polls are added as Ning Application. Make sure you are signed in your Ning account.
2) Go to Manage > Ning Apps > Featured > PollDaddy (install it and sign up for an account)
3) Set up the account and your can create any poll, change the look, etc....
4) Now go back to Ning, go to the PollDaddy tab and sign in.
5) You will see the PollDaddy window. Select the poll, you will be asked to save the poll
again and once saved, the poll will be sent to your profile.

6) Once in your profile, your members just have to click to PollDaddy tab and the poll
will appear for them to vote.
